Went to bed at 7-freakin'-30 last night (I think I've been over-doing it a bit), woke up to ten bucks pledged from someone I've never heard of. That's okay though. I was kinda surprised, actually.
They may wind up doing a case study of this campaign, as an example of how NOT to do it...I studied on this stuff for a bit, read all about the most successful campaigns, and did SOME of it...yet I shied away (as I knew I would) from the sh*t that's always held me back - what I perceive as buggin' people. My entire life I've dreamed of being in a position where other people would bug people on my behalf, and I could just do the stuff I don't suck at. Maybe some day...but not if I don't bug people. I read these stories about these folks who built up massive email lists - that email lists are the way to go. I compiled the emails of the people I KNEW had read and enjoyed the book, or dig the music, or just think I'm a swell feller. Tried to add to it even on FB, by giving away my books and my music. Got it built up to a whopping 41 people! This ain't what's recommended. So silly, all this fuss for a comedy opera adaptation of a ghost story. Not sure how I got to here, but here is most certainly where I'm at, and when I watch the videos of Sean and Anna singing my songs, and when I listen to the other demos, and when I think of the reactions of those who've listened thus far, here ain't that bad a place to be. Guess what I'm gonna do today? Yep. Bug people.
